CAUSE
Serious infection of the gums that can potentially damage soft tissue and bone that supports the teeth. Poor oral hygiene, untreated plaque buildup can harden into calculus and can create a condition in the oral cavity where bacteria grows. PREVENTION
Good oral hygiene (brush twice a day, mouth rinse, flossing) and regular visits to your dental provider.
TREATMENT
Typical treatment includes a deep clean (under the gumline), mouth rinse, strict periodic dental checkup, reinforce oral hygiene.
